Dan Brown & Sydney Sheldon

Finished Dan Brown’s ‘Deception Point’ and Sydney Sheldon’s ‘Sands of time’

Deception Point is a damn good piece of work. Amazingly rich depth of subjects like astrophysics, geology, politics, oceanography, etc. Real good one.

Sands of time has the good language and lucid thoughts, but frankly I feel Sheldon loves to make people believe that human beings always go with their basic instinct for sex no matter what the situation. A man meets a woman and they start craving…. Oh please, does that always happen??

The story is ok but we advanced primates are reasonable enough not to crave for sex with every individual of the opposite sex we come across.

Nevertheless, makes interesting reading.

Finished Web of Deceit

Woh, tht was a good one, though I feel the ending could have been better.... something like: the protagonists going home as a family....(now, many r gonna shoot from the lip for this one)

i know thts the same normal ending but its nice to read that something good happens after a lot of struggle. But a movie is a different thing: visually, even if the ending is unexpected (RGV style), watching is easier than reading; for most of us, that is. So, an ubrupt ending in films is much easier to take in than the books, I feel..... thats becos if a book is intersting, generally, i strain myself and don't toss it till I'm done.

I'm lucky ...?

We had gone to Westside store last week. There was this scheme that a mechandise will be displayed and you have to guess the price of the entire thing. If u r lucky, then u get coupons worth the price of the merchandise.
This time it was a salwar kameez set and a necklace. We figured the cost to be Rs. 1678. That was simple, we just looked for similar articles in the store, added up the cost and put it in the form.
There wd hav been a lucky draw or something and Bingo! today a guy called up asking for me. "Madam, u r the lucky winner. Congrats. Please collect ur vouchers worth Rs. 1678."

Phew! So, I'm lucky, eh?
